| Bristol Overnight TV Ratings Fox’s broadcast of Sunday’s Food City 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race earned a 4.1 overnight rating and a 10 market share from Nielsen Media Research, Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Daily reports. | Re: Bristol Overnight TV Ratings Think France needs to realize it's not the economy thats wrong with Nascar. If that were it, the tv ratings would be going up, as more people watch at home instead of going in person. Instead they seem to keep going down. Meanwhile, the truck ratings keep going up. Gee I wonder why he hasn't thought that maybe it's because of the racing in the trucks, and the almost non racing of the cars. |

| Re: Bristol Overnight TV Ratings Quote:
The truck ratings had nowhere to go but up.... How come TV ratings were down for the NFL this year?? Wait till the MLB ratings come out in 2009...People have more options now.... example the internet, sirrius radio. Why are ratings down in the IRL??? Why did Budweiser leave Kenny Bernstein?? Wait....I know it was Tereasa's fault!! |

| Re: Bristol Overnight TV Ratings It seems as if nothing will conince the novices in here who defend Nascrap that the sport is going down hill in a hurry. T.V. ratings are dropping big time, and they didn't have that much to drop to begin with. Attendance is way down, and that includes the many gieaways that most of these tracks have, like buy 50 bucks worth of groceries and get a free ticket. Now for all of you Nascrap defenders, show me the stats about eht NFL for this year, considering that they have not playeda single game this year. (Duh???) Show me the stats for the IRL. We are talking about Sunday Afternoon, not prime time Friday Night. Wake up and smell the coffee. The race at Bristol lost T.V. and fan attendance because of two things. First, people do not want to see boxes run around a track. Second, the addition of another passing lane took most of the action out of the race, and made it a "Merry-go-round" race for most of the race. The old Bristol track used to be much more exciting. What they did was like adding a lane to an Interstate. They reduced the traffic, which was one of the major reasons why racing at Bristol was so exciting. By the way, for you Nascrap defenders, you may want to check your facts. IRL T.V. ratings were up over 25% in 2008 from 2007. They have not televised or ran a race yet this year. Get your facts straight. |
