| Re: The Ride of Their Lives on CMT caught it last night , well worth watching. one thing I noticed in one of the racing scenes, from the eighties. was how much the susp. moved up and down on the cars, was really neat the see it working, and how rough the tracks were. today the susp doesn't move and the track are so smooth, there not much driving but instead just getting forward bite off the turn and arrow push in the turns.

| Re: The Ride of Their Lives on CMT I loved how Stevie told DW he had a big mouth. Yeah, we had allot of travel on the suspension back then. I can remember pushing the rubbers back down on the shocks to see how far they went up when out on the track. The drivers got it made now. DW was right. Power steering, radios and the technology of today has made it too easy. I wonder what the drivers would do if they had to use more muscle than brains? Granted, some dont seem to have any brains at all. But as they say "No brains, No headaches". |
