Even thou this very respectable. I wouldn't call it "Very Competitive". Besides Rusty NEVER had the talent Dale had and he's now 3 years older then when Dale ran his last race!!
As in my above post not only would that be "Very competitive" it would put you in the chase since it's introduction most likely unless you finshed out of the top 35 every week you didn't win.....

Winning is hard, and it's rare and those that do it tend to do it over and over again. Less than 1/3 of those who start each week in and week out in a cup race have ever won a cup race. EVER.

There are 4 drivers out of 12 in the chase this year without a win so far.

I beg to differ. That equates to at least a win a year. How many teams would KILL for a driver that could bring home a win once a year. Look how few teams have a win this year.

On the cup circuit there have been 10 drivers with a win so far and 77 different drivers have attempted to qualify at least once.

I was thinking today who would be left to drive at DEI now Almirola and Truex is that it?
isn't Smith still around .. I know he was given "free agent" status to go look since his car no longer has a sponsor (with the "new" alignment), but haven't heard anything further.

Re: Rusty back to Cup in DEI?

Never been a Rusty fan. He was the biggest whiner in the sport until Gordon came on the scene. Gordon has improved, Rusty never did. However, when Rusty won his last Cup race, I was happy for him.

Age has NOTHING to do with this. TALENT and COMPETITIVENESS is what counts. If he thinks he can run with the big dogs of today, I say let him have at it.
