Re: Montoya Time Disallowed

Something about Gas pressures in the spring not meeting specs.

Yea, I couldn't make out what they were saying on Trackside because it was garbled, but I believe they said the problem was in the right rear shock. Sucks for JPM and Co. Hopefully they can overcome it and still be fast. I really don't want this to become another Johnson (*yawn*) benefit race.

Re: Montoya Time Disallowed

Ya know, if it's wrong, it's wrong.

But isn't it ironic that the biggest cheating team in the garage benefits from it, as we now have JJ on the pole.

That just makes me laugh!

Good article by David Poole here! I find it hard to disagree with it.

Poole has his opinions...

Fortunately for the rest of us, we too have ours, unless you agree to be led by his opinions rather than have your own.

But I digress...

All I have to say is this:

Re: Montoya Time Disallowed

Furthermore...

The one GOOD thing - the ONE consoling factor that I can take away from this is the fact that he FINALLY did what he did! Maybe the "tricked-out" parts helped his run but he certainly had no help holding the steering wheel and mashing the gas down with his right foot through turns 3 and 4 when everyone was sure he would drive it into the wall!

Now I'm really intrigued... how would he have run IN THAT CAR with rear shocks that weren't past the NASCAR limits?!?

Re: Montoya Time Disallowed

I do agree with him that cars caught cheating during qualifying should be tossed out of the track.

It should have happened to JJ a couple of years ago in Daytona, and it should happen every time.

If that was the rule, it would stop NASCAR from playing favorites.

If you think that is being lead, oh well.

Right is right, and to me, in this case, he is right.

Doesn't matter who says it!

Re: Montoya Time Disallowed

Can someone explain how Jimmie ,who qualified 2nd is starting 1st? They always when someone failed inspection and had to start at the rear, the line they were in moved forward, which in this case would have been Mark moving up into 1st. Since they've always done it that way, I'm lost on why they're not doing it that way this race.

Re: Montoya Time Disallowed

They probably failed JPM because they didn't want him starting up front next to Jimmy. JPM would race him too hard into turn 1 and JJ might get taken out.
They probably also didn't want JPM to grab that #1 pit stall from a Chaser!

of course I'm just kidding

Re: Montoya Time Disallowed

JPM has done less than expected here in NASCAR. Reason? Open to opinion and speculation.

One thought that appears now is wondering is the way to success previously has been only when a "cheat" has been slipped by the inspectors in any/all of his other endeavors.

Be surprised if that were true/so, but cannot really know.
