| Is the media pushing Dodge out? As a long time MOPAR fan I am kind of confussed over all this talk in the Media concerning Dodges struggles in all NASCAR series. 1. The media has made such a big deal about a Dodge missing the chase. Yes it is true but the Media makes it sound like it's the end of world. They act like Dodge hasn't done anything in 2 years. But here is the reality: This year Dodge has won 4 races (including the Daytona 500/Coke 600) and that's not counting the All Star race. 3 different drivers have won for Dodge. This year Ford has won 6 races.... All by Carl Edwards, no other ford driver has won this year. This year Toyota has won 9 races.... 8 of them by Kyle Busch. This year Chevy has won 7 races..... 4 by Jimmy Johnson. So my point is, yes Dodge is a LITTLE behind but if you listen to the Media you would think they are done and are getting ready too pack thier bags. |

| Re: Is the media pushing Dodge out? Maybe they're going by the idea that they're suppose to be pulling out of the CTS. Maybe they(the media) figure if Dodge does that, how long will it be before they pull out all together. Can't say I haven't wondered the same thing myself. But I don't think the media's pushing them out, they have nothing to do with how a manufacturer runs. And with Dodge, it's not just teams, some running good and others not, seems all Dodges are running kinda crappy.

Some bean counter at Cerberus has decided that there just isn't any profit in racing trucks. Can the same theory about racing cars be far behind? Especially cars to which only the vision-challenged can relate to? Cars/trucks which don't run an engine or a drive train the company manufacturers? Car/trucks which are getting their lunch handed to them each week by Ford, Toyota and GM logo'd race cars? To be honest with you, I can't say that I blame MOPAR a bit.

| Re: Is the media pushing Dodge out? Yeah, just look at what the two fired heads of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are walking away with. I sure wish that I could have had a job where my compensation was inversely proportional to my success. I wouldn't have worked nearly as hard as I once did and would then be a whole lot wealthier. |

| Re: Is the media pushing Dodge out? Why would Mopar not be interested fully and only in profit? That's what they are in business for. Not racing entertainment. As soon as car makers find out they are not getting a suitable return on racing they are out. Makes sense to me. I can't believe Dodge is the only maker to figure this out so far. I mean you think people watch a box go around a track with a wing on the back makes them want to buy a Dodge car just because it has a Dodge sticker on it? Probably not. Good for dodge for figuring that out. |
