Martin, 'Ol Buddy, I am confused. Seriously, no BS.

RANK /CAR # /TEAM OWNER /POINTS /ATTEMPTS /STARTS
55 /02 /Joe Gibbs Racing /25 /1 /0
56 / 02 /Ash Motorsports /22 /1 /0
57 / 37 /Front Row Motorsports /16 /1 /0

They have the same number of attempts and the same number of starts. Yet Gibbs has 25, Brandon Ash's team has 22 and Bob Jenkins has 16? Why? Did Gibbs get extra points because they tried to start Wunderkinder? Did Jenkins get points deducted because he's got the same name as a great announcer who is no longer on ESPN"s Christmas card list?

Any rule (The Chosen 35 and attendent Owner's Points) that is this confusing needs to be done away with immediately!

As you know, 43rd place in a race pays 34 points. The owners who fail to make a race are awarded points from fastest non-qualifier to slowest.

In today's race, the non-qualifiers were the #34 (31 points), the #09 (28 points) and the #02 of Gibbs (25 points).

When Brandon Ash failed to qualify for his only race this season, 3 other cars were faster than he was, so he got 22 points.

When Eric McClure tried and failed to qualify the #37 car, 5 other cars were faster than he was, so he received 16 points.

Thank you. I knew you'd set me straight. I fear that I have developed such a mental block against The Chosen Rule, and everything which encompasses it, this was a rule I just didn't pay any attention to.

I still say The Chosen 35 Rule must go! It's merely a form of team owner and sponsor welfare.
