Immature at JGR

It seems the last few weeks have been very stressful for several members of Joe Gibbs Racing.

1). Denny Hamlin- After his engine expired with 5 laps to go at Michigan. Denny blasted his team and equipment on national TV and stated that his team didn't deserve to be in the chase right then.

2). Kyle Busch- After leading 415 laps at bristol he was given the bump and run by Carl Edwards. This in turn led to Kyle bumping into Carl's car on the cool down lap and later led to Kyle acting like a 10 year old by calling Edwards Mr. Ed (but he ment to say Eddie Haskel).

3). JD Gibbs- The son of JGR head Joe Gibbs is usually reserved and has always had a "Better then thou" attitude. After the now famous Edwards bump and run on Kyle Busch, JD pulled aside Edwards and stated that "you reap what you sow."

4). Tony Stewart- Even thou he has been quite recently. Tony is well known for his rants and complaints. Earlier this year Tony on national TV went into a 2 minute rant about Goodyear tires. Sat. night at Bristol Tony tangled with Jeff Gordon. On his radio he then went into a 2 minute rant about Gordon which has since been replayed on Sirrius radio several times with the 60 "bad" words bleeped out. Also earlier this year Tony got so mad at a USAC official he knocked the officials head set off his head.

5). Joey Lagono- He hasn't had the chance to show his true colors yet. But he is only 18. Yearlier this year after a bad pit stop, Joey lost several positions and in his post race interveiw he stated "he was put in the back with the other junk."

My question.....Who is the most immature member at JGR?

Re: Immature at JGR

I'd say none of the above.

All athletes are big kids, what do you expect...

I'd vote JD Gibbs since I have to pick.

This should be interesting.

Re: Immature at JGR

Denny Hamlin. He's constantly bashing his crew. He did it either earlier this year or last year I don't remember exactly when they messed up in the pits a couple times in the same race.

Tony Stewart is a close second though... "Crybaby Stewart" is what I call him.

Kyle Bush is fine in my books. At least he came out publicly and said the COT sucks. Racing those tanks has taken some fun out of watching IMO.

Lagano? How can you make an assumption already on this kid? I can count on my hands how many races he has under his belt in the Nationwide series. Give him a year or two at the Cup level and we'll see where we stand. Kid's only 18 too! I mean... how mature where you when you were fresh out of high school? I wasn't.

I went with Tony. For an past champion and his age, you'd expect alittle more maturity out of him.

Re: Immature at JGR

Denny was pretty whiny after the michigan race. He reminded me of my two year old with sticking his bottom lip out pouting.

But my vote is for Joey. Seems he is taking the "dale carnigie" approach ala Kyle Busch. He pouts when he does not win. Second is not an option. When he has not won he craps on his pit crew. Dude how about being appreciative(sp) and thanking the guys "back in the shop". If it wasn't for them you would not have the great ride you have had in the nationwide race. Dude be thankful for a change.

Carrie

Re: Immature at JGR

They're (drivers) all self-servicing primadonnas who have no marketable skills to speak of and probably would be hard pressed to make more than average wage in the real world. If they were only half as important as they believe they are, they would be only Vice Chairman of the World and not CEO.

To say one is "more immature" than the others is a misnomer. As Phils alluded to, all are merely kids playing games for a living.

J.D. is in the position he holds solely because of his father. He displays a lot of good people skills and is a worthwhile individual who is human enough to make mistakes.

Re: Immature at JGR

I would have to say, based on recent events, that Denny is. I really don't like his aww-we'll-never-win-boo-hoo attitude, which is a shame because he does have talent.

Re: Immature at JGR

You know Warp.... I do agree, Denny does have talent. But let me ask u this.... So far this season Kyle Busch has won 8 times. Denny has won 1.
Is KB 8 times as talented as Hamlin? I really don't blame DH after Mich. It must be frustrating seeing the #18 stomp the field! In an interview today on Sirrius Denny said the thing that made him so frustrated after his engine blew was that JGR was experimenting with the new engine package. He got that package and he is a bubble driver and KB was already locked into the chase..... So I don't really blame him!

Re: Immature at JGR

True, Denny has been 'plagued' with bad luck this season, but what makes him immature is the way he handles it in front of the camera. In his defense though, having a journalist unfairly stick their mic in your face seconds after getting out of a car should be stopped. There's no cool down period for the driver.

And Tony Stewart hasn't won yet. Do you think TS has lost a step? I don't. I think it is very obivious that JD not only offered millions to Busch he also offered the best JGR had. I don't blame TS for leaving. JD did the same to Bobby and now has done it to Tony and Denny. KyB will get the best and what he wants because he is JD's golden boy. Joe may own the team and be the teams mascot but JD is calling ALL the shots.
