| Coleman set to make Cup debut this weekend Mike Skinner will replace Michael McDowell for the next three weeks at Michael Waltrip Racing. McDowell fell out of the top 35 in car owner points after last weekend's race; his car is not guaranteed a starting spot this weekend at Michigan. McDowell is scheduled to return to the car at Richmond next month after Skinner has helped the team evaluate its program. Brad Coleman, 20, makes his Cup debut this weekend, driving for Hall of Fame Racing. Marcos Ambrose, who finished third last weekend at Watkins Glen, is back in the Wood Brothers' car this weekend. -- The Virginian-Pilot Bonus points put Kyle Busch in enviable position | HamptonRoads.com | PilotOnline.com |

| Re: Coleman set to make Cup debut this weekend The Coleman kid rocks! If Hall of Fame gives him the support and patience, he will rock NASCAR. And he is cool as a cucumber! Go DLP and 96!! Go Coleman. Good luck kid!! |

| Re: Coleman set to make Cup debut this weekend Could this be deja vu. Rick Hendrick discovered a young Jeff Gordon racing for a "so so" race team. He grab Jeff, put him under contract, got a sound sponsor for him and made him into what is one of the best NASCAR performing drivers of all time. This kid, Brad Coleman may be the same as Jeff Gordon was. He is debuting his NASCAR Cup career with a "so so" race team. With so many good rides coming open for next year, you wonder why Ray Evernham, Richard Childress, Petty Enterprises, Roger Penske and even Bill Davis let this guy slip right through their fingers.

| Re: Coleman set to make Cup debut this weekend I wouldn't bet on the patience part. This is a team that in less than two full years has kicked out two solid drivers. |

| Re: Coleman set to make Cup debut this weekend Not the same at all. Neither DLP or Coleman stabbed his previous team owner and car maker in the back to get the Cup ride. |

| Re: Coleman set to make Cup debut this weekend I don't think the "stabbing in the back" for Brad Coleman has occurred yet. Let's see what happens in the few races the rest of the year with Coleman at the wheel. If he's good (and I think he will match the performance of Joey Lagano has demonstrated) then one of the race team owners I mentioned earlier will pick up the dagger and go to work. |
