Well I'm glad you said that and not me. I have too agree he looked punch drunk. I don't think he knew what he was saying. At the end he said..."we proved we could beat the 18 car." Poor guy didn't even know where he was but from my TV it wasn't victory lane!!!

why didn't they talk to him right away???? they always talk to the runner up first[ 96.4 % of the time ].....it seemed to me that for such a late interview,some thing was amiss ....and then his performance at the interview points to,again something wrong......but hopefully nothing serious......maybe just .....no i better not say it...

Could it have been taped?

I have seen them pass of taped interviews as live before. They may have interviewed him while doing some other things! And by taped, I only mean a delay of 5-10 minutes, but it could be the case here.

I just figured he was PO'd that he was in the lead, felt he had the best and fastest car and got beat. Kinda tough to lose graciously and then get a mic in your face

Ok, I found a video showing the interviews with Harvick and Johnson. In Harvick's interview, there's no burn-out smoke to be seen in the stands. In the Johnson interview, there's alot of smoke lingering around.

Harvick was interviewed BEFORE the burn-out, when KyB was stuck in the mud, and Johson AFTER the burn-out. This would indicate that Johnson was interviewed after Harvick. My verdict: Not taped.

After looking at the vids, I dont think you can judge when they were being interviewed by the smoke in the stands. Harvicks interview had the camera facing turn 1, while JJ's was facing more the frontstretch/turn4. Besides, if you look at the turf behind Harvick, you see its all tore up, so Kyle has already been pushed out of it.

You're right about the turf. So if KyB did his burn-out immediately after getting out of the mud, which is what you'd expect, then the fact that Johson has smoke in his video and Harvick doesn't, indicates that Johnson's interview was taped since it was showed after Harvick's.

Considering that those 2 cars were right beside each other, I don't think the angle difference is that great. In both shots, we can see the tire tracks in the turf, yet in Johnson's pic there is a lot of smoke, but in Harvick's there is very little.

I just always figured they had a reporter at both cars getting the interviews at the same time, basically taping them both at the same time, since they use different reporters.
