I think you all know I'm not a Busch fan ... at all. Did any of you catch the comments Shrub made about the fans in Victory Lane after the last race he won? I think it was last Sunday. Not Pocono, the week before.

He said something like, and I'm paraphrasing here, "It makes me happy to win and to know that the fans who boo me are crying all the way home." What a flippin' jerk! DW was right (sorry, LSC), Shrub needs to keep his mouth shut. One more comment that makes me hate him. You don't trash the fans, whether they boo or cheer! I hate him! I hate him! I hate him!

Shrub reminds me of the delinquents I went to high school with and ended up in reform school. He's a punk!

Wont you tell us how you really feel.

Hey, I hope this is where you wanted me to put it. I'm 19 and I've been watching for 19 years I used to race go karts as a teenager, and I just love racing. Especially dirt racing! My first favorite driver was Rusty Wallace in the mid 90s. That was until I went to a race at Bristol and heard the boos for Jeff Gordon. Well, he went on to win that race in 1998, and I never understood why someone so good was being booed. He grew on me and I've liked him ever since. It's the same way I feel now about Kyle Busch. Kyle Busch is very talented and I really noticed this last season at the Prelude to the Dream dirt race when he finished second in his very first time in a late model. Now look how well he is meshing at JGR, and I'm sure he'll win a lot of races, and become an all time great. Drivers I don't like are Juan Pablo and Dale Jr.

My top 5 favorites would be:

1. Jeff Gordon
2. Kyle Busch
3. Denny Hamlin
4. Brian Vickers
5. Jimmie Johnson

Welcome Shocker. 19 yrs old and following NA__AR for 19 years? You must have had one Hell of an infancy!

OK, we know exactly where you stand, driver-wise. It's easy to favor a driver, specially one who is, or has been winning. Nice to see you like Brian. Personally I tend to favor his team mate but that's just me.

Personally I'd be interested in seeing why you dislike Juan Pablo and Junior? I find some of the reasons people dislike a particular driver are fascinating, when he actually give a reason, not just some drive-by excuse like "He's a punk!" or the ever-popular "He SUX!" For example, our good friend here, Penelope Pitstop, says she dislikes Kyle Busch because "He reminds her of kids she knew in school who were ner-do-wells and ended up serving time. That's valid.

Okay folks.... this is a place for discussing our opinions, whether it be whether or not we like a driver and why. It is not a place for calling people names or referring to them in a derogatory way just because they post or start a thread on their opinion. If you do not like their opinion, state that and move on without any repsponse to the persons character.

That being said..... I don't think KyB was trashin the fans. He was just playin the bad guy, and doin it very well.

Re: Shrub Trashes Fans

Below is a copy of our forum rules. Please note that rule #3 allows us to bash any athlete we want. Note that rule #2 does not permit personal attacks. Ones view of personal attacks may be different than the next. Lets all keep that thought in mind when responding to posts from other members.

Please also note that, and I repeat myself from a previous post, there is no time limit to when a thread should or must die. If anyone wants to dig up a post from 2 years ago, it is perfectly acceptable. If there is something being posted by someone and you don't like the post or opinion please just move on to a subject that you feel you can contribute to. If anyone feels that another poster is creating undue issues, please notify a moderator. Starting battles in forums is not an acceptable way of complaining.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to PM me or any other moderator.

Forum Rules Thanks for visiting the GoTeamsGo forums. We've got a few rules that everybody needs to follow to make the community enjoyable for all.
  1. We're a PG rated forum. Leave the profanity and explicit comments somewhere else.
  2. Don't flame other members. Personal attacks will not be tolerated. More details here..
  3. It's fair game to slam a pro athlete or team but keep in mind our PG-rating applies here as well. Posts that offer nothing but mindless flames will be deleted.
  4. You can complain about non-pro athletes (amatuer, high school, college...) but cut them some slack since they're not professionals.
  5. Racial, sexual, or ethnic slurs are not allowed.
  6. We are not a forum for discussion of politics and religion.
  7. We are not a venue for free advertisement or promotion of any website, cause, movement, group, product or service. External links in posts will be removed at the sole discretion of GoTeamsGo and its moderators so best to not link to any other sites. New members who break this rule run the chance of being banned immediately as spammers.
  8. External links in posts are allowed but only to these 2 types of sites: 1) obvious news articles at recognized news sites 2) newsworthy blog posts. External links in posts will be removed at the sole discretion of GoTeamsGo and its moderators.
  9. You can place one link to one website in your signature but GoTeamsGo reserves the right to remove, alter or delete the link at its sole discretion. GoTeamsGo controls the right to display signatures so please do not place signatures directly in your posts.
  10. Your posts may be edited for clarity, brevity or for any other reason at the sole discretion of GoTeamsGo. Threads and posts may be moved or removed at our discretion.
GoTeamsGo is privately owned, operated and funded. We have the right to refuse service to anyone and/or to terminate an account at any time. Just act like reasonable adults and everybody will have a good time.

Hmmm...? I thought that you'd be impressed when I quoted from your New Zealand law? New Zealand Section 123 of the Crimes Act 1961, to be exact.

One of the best answers I can offer is that we are by far the most active forum. In other sports such as NBA, NFL & MLB you generally cheer for a team. In NASCAR you (generally) cheer for a driver. Since I am not a fan of any one driver I cannot explain why some fans feel they have this close personal relation ship with driver "______". I do see that when a negative comment is made some fans take it to heart and will battle back with another member ???? Makes no sense to me and please understand that this is just my opinion and not fact. Maybe others have a different point of view.

Yep, I was born in back of a taxi cab to top it all off jk, that was my dad who was born in one of those.

Why do I dislike those two?

Juan Pablo--> Wreckless, disrespectful, obnoxious, whiny, seems to think he's better than everyone else because he was in F1 or whatever it was.........wait hold on, that's starting to sound like the same reasons I like Kyle Busch lol.

Dale Jr.--> Well, this one mostly deals with his fans. You know, the ones that throw beer every time he loses? The ones that act like they're the only fans at the track, and if you show up with a certain drivers shirt, you're bashed for it. And God forbid someone point out that Dale Jr. has made a mistake or two during his driving career. That's asking for it. Yet those same "fans" are the first to crush another driver for doing the same thing. It's the whole double standards thing. I also don't think Dale Jr. has the work ethic of many drivers (sometimes lazy), and Parties a lot. But these are just my opinions. I have another answer to the reason why I don't like Dale Jr., but it's a little harsher, and probably not something I should post when I'm trying to avoid making enemies right off the bat...unless you want me to post it
