i'm very connected to my inner child + i'm 14 years old
I don't need anyone to tell me what is exciting, I can figure that out for myself.
I didn't say what was exciting for me was exciting for you, i'm saying that exciting for me is when the broadcasters make the race SOUND exciting on par with the radio

And as far as showing every pass for the lead on Fox. I'm laughing myself silly right now.

The only passes Fox wants to show are the ones that involve the 88 or the 18, and maybe an HMS car.
Thats a lie, and you know it.... They can't just focus on a couple cars broadcasting, thats unfare for the fans
tell me how many times they focus on JR and Bush here: YouTube - 2008 Goody's Cool Orange 500 Finish

The rest of the field might as well not run.
now that's just plain stupid, not running since they can't get on tv. sad opinion there. besides, everyone gets seen at least once on the tube.
Rmember, The Fox guys are the ones that wanted to CHARGE the teams to show the logos on the cars.

For those who weren't watching then, or have just forgotten, remember the jerks digitally removed sponsor logos on the cars they showed by the drivers names in that 2001 Daytona 500. NASCAR had to twist thier arm to bring them back for Rockingham.
don't know what you are talking about there
Fox could never show another race, and I'd be happy.
If ESPN takes over the schedule, i'm just muting the Tv and turning on the Radio, least it sounds better there... plus, the Nascar.com debators also agree espn sux to some extent.
And Rusty won't be calling the races this year, DJ will. Rusty will be in those segments when the come back from commercial. Very brief.
i heard DJ broadcasting, he wasn't the best and wasn't sounding very excited.
I think DJ is gonna be an excellent addition.
hope so
And Kyle Petty will be doing the TNT show. He is taking those TNT races off.
I don't hate him, i just get really annoyed by what he says every half second. so i really don't think he is a good broadcaster-i hate kyle, he says My *** to much. Bill Weber sucks at commentating, and Without Allen Bestwick, Wally Dallenbach, and *sniff* Benny Parsons *sniff* they'll never be the same exciting TNT/ABC race broadcasting they used to be.

I look forward to seeing how both of those drivers do in the booth.
won't say anything for kyle, but i'm hoping DJ breaks loose
Thanks to Fox, I say!

For being done! you aren't funny

Between the friggin', friggen and hating it sure doesn't sound very christian like to me!!
ok, when i say friggin, i mean friggen, not ****. that's me. i don't know what it'll mean, but it's a name given to someone i'm frustrated with.

Note to FOX: I'd look forward to you're returning in Feb more if...
  • You'd either tone DW down (Prozac or even Thorzine might be nice) or dump him and his stupid "Boogity, boogity..." altogether, and...
  • Give Larry Mac some English lessons over the break and, at least, teach him the proper conjugation of the verb, "to be." He has far too mach knowledge to impart without the listeners being distracted by him saying, "They is..."
My dream job, To stand behind mike Joy in the broadcast booth. Every time he uses the word Roushketeers, I get to whack him on the side of the head with a rolled up newspaper, hard.

I don't have HD yet don't even know if I will ever get it I have a new Sharp flat screen TV and it has the best picture, except when they show the races, it is fuzzy can hardly read the leader strip. I always hated it when Fox was broadcasting the race, sure hope TNT will be better.

Actually it's just a case of which coverage sucks the least. There hasn't bewen any really good coverage since NA__AR signed the contracts with the major networks and took it all off cable.

Re: Goodbye Fox *sniff*

The coverage could be improved with better announcers. If they'd call the race as it happens that would be an improvement. Giving more equal time to more teams might be nice. Fans of driver "X" would like to see and hear about their favorite even though he is a 32nd place driver. Sadly most of the concentration goes to the advertisers. They toss in a few laps of racing to break up the 3 hours worth of commercials.

Well I was around when the Daytona 500 was shown on Wide World of Sports a couple weeks after it was actually run. I still have no use for DW and many of the others. They try to be the show when they should be reporting the show. In my view they are terrible. Mind you there are some good announcers out there. A few of them were race car drivers. Being a former driver certainly doesn't make you a good announcer. There is way to much time spent on pre-race shows and it gives these guys way to much exposure. Again, just announce the race. I really don't care for their opinions minute after minute. How would the evening news be if the reporters worked in the same method as some of our worst ?????

just a thought......any one capable of communicating on the computer should have little trouble learning how to use a vcr or a remote control for their tv...it helped me greatly to get over the mental pain caused by ''talking heads'' interrupted by a steady stream of lengthly commercials.....

But that would mean you wouldn't see it live.

Not a chance of that, unless I'm working. We have so many fans at work, I'd never be able to not know what happened.

I think a better idea is to just fix the broadcast.

Isn't it a sad state of affairs when folks would rather tape than watch live?

Just the opposite of what the goal of the broadcast is.

What they need to do is stop telling us what we want, and listen to what we actually do want!
