Re: Do You Support NASCAR and Their Sponsors

I buy drivers merchandise. Thats as far as I go on something just because of Nascar. And those are because of the driver. But no I don't buy a particular item just because they are a Nascar sponsor. If I like it I'll buy it and if I don't like it I won't buy it.
My daughter who is a huge JG fan bought a few of his energy drinks. She said they were nasty and hasn't bought one since.

The ones I've spent any money on in the last 12 months on your list would be AT&T, Home Depot and McDonalds.Have spent 0 at the others. Although my daughter drinks enough Red Bull that she could partially sponsor one of their cars.

Re: Do You Support NASCAR and Their Sponsors

I see 4-5 sponsors that I throw money at but not because of NASCAR or any team/driver. I do have one hat that says "NASCAR Pure American Power". Obviously it isn't a current hat, plus it was a gift. I buy nothing mainly because I am a fan of racing and not a particular driver.

Re: Do You Support NASCAR and Their Sponsors

I bought a Dale Jr. 88 cap at the Daytona 500 this year. Big ticket items purchased this past year was a new Lexus made by Toyota. I use an AT&T phone, drink Jack Daniels, eat Kelloggs' Corn Flakes, eat Snickers candy bars, shop at Home Dept, Office Depot, and Best Buy; ship with UPS and FedEx.

Oh yeah! I bought a MacDonald's milk shake this afternoon as I came back from shopping.

So, in a certain way I support NASCAR and the team sponsors.

More importantly are you using those products because of NASCAR or because they fit your needs ?

Re: Do You Support NASCAR and Their Sponsors

I guess the only thing I've bought because it was a sponsor was Wrangler Jeans, which I still buy at Walmart when I need a new pair, because the price is right. Other than that, I don't really consider NASCAR or sponsors when I buy anything or where I go to buy it.

Re: Do You Support NASCAR and Their Sponsors

I don't buy any products just because they are nascar related. I did see a few sponsors that I have donated many dollars to.... Mostly the alcohols, but a few others as well.

Okay, I drink Amp, because it's good but I will say I had never heard of it until Junior hooked on with it. I drive a Toyota because honestly, I'm a poor high school student and that is basically all I can afford. Then I drink Coke Zero because it's kind of good for you and I love M&M and Snickers because they are really good. Has nothing to do with NASCAR.

Re: Do You Support NASCAR and Their Sponsors

I will give NASCAR sponsors first shot when needing a new product, then I'll use my judgement has to if it fits my needs in price and quality.

I still use pennzoil in my truck and race car, from when micheal waltrip drove the #30.
I use castroil in my SS since they sponsored the #27 busch car drive by kasey atwood, and it also came in the car from the factory.

I use citgo instead of exxon cause I always liked the wood bros.
yep wrangler jeans...that blue and yellow#3

home depot over lowes because I don't car for the 48 team.

so yeah I shop by nascar at first glance but then use my personel opinion from then on.

Re: Do You Support NASCAR and Their Sponsors

I have have bought 2 Dale Jr hats, one a couple years ago and then I upgraded to his 88 hat before the season. I also tried AMP because of Jr and it's pretty good and it is something I will have on occasion. Those are my only purchases that are a result of me being a NASCAR fan, everything else was something I would get regardless.

Re: Do You Support NASCAR and Their Sponsors

for me its a combination of my needs first, and then the products affiliations second.

example. if Im in need of something, for this purpose, lets say, a car accessory like a steering wheel cover, ill go for the NASCAR branded cover, but i still just need a cover, I wouldnt go and by the cover just because its NASCAR or affiliate branded.

but if theres a choice ill spend the extra (if its not a ridiculous difference) cash to support my interests.

Re: Do You Support NASCAR and Their Sponsors

If Safeway Supermarkets, Orchard Supply Hardware, Big-5 Sporting Goods, Lucky Markets, Barnes and Noble bookstores, Circuit City, Starbucks and some other businesses were in NASCAR then I can say they affect my buying decisions! I've seen Fry's Electronics on some cars when they raced here in Cali but I'd go to Fry's even without being on a car!

USPS, UPS and Fedex sometimes get my business but not because of NASCAR...

Where's Wal-Mart in all this? I mean, they are undoubtedly one of the biggest retailers of anything under the sun and they aren't a sponsor?!?

Re: Do You Support NASCAR and Their Sponsors

I actually go out of my way to use products that are NASCAR sponsors. When I need something if I have a choice between the product of a NASCAR sponsor and the Non-NASCAR sponsor I go with NASCAR all the way.

WIth that said, I purposely avoid the products of sponsors who support race teams that i don't like.

For example, I've always been a Chevy man. Even before I liked NASCAR I liked Chevrolet. I've always been a Junior fan but, Tony Stewart was one of my drivers as well. Because of that, when I needed hardware I went out of my way to shop at the Home Depot.

When JGR switched to Toyota I dumped Stewart. (IMO Toyota has no place in NASCAR but, that's another story.) Also, I refuse to shop at The Home Depot because I feel that somehow my money is going to support JGR.

I now shop at Lowe's because they support a Chevrolet team and Hendrick Motorsports as well. I want my money going to a business who supports the team who my favorite driver drives for.......Junior.

I WILL NOT buy a product that sponsors a race team which I dislike. That includes Home Depot and any Roush Racing sponsor as well.

I've heard that there's ALOT of NASCAR fans who are brand loyal based on who a product sponsors. This includes the car companies as well. Corporations should take a close look at this and beware who they sponsor.

Re: Do You Support NASCAR and Their Sponsors

If I need something, I buy it where it is convenient.

Especially in these days of close to 4 dollars a gallon for gas. My loyalty is to driver only!
