Yes, I would rather have heard someone being called an AH than a queer. I wonder what he would call Bill Lester? It's prejudicial and unnecessary. I don't consider that expressing an opinion, but calling names and making insinuations for the express reason of causing another harm. When that crap starts I do indeed exercise my right to turn the channel and just consider the source. I don't believe that young man will ever change, but it doesn't interfere with my ability to enjoy watching him race. He is, at times, just about the only exciting thing happening on the track.

I don't know about scrambling but I've heard them switch to frequencies that had not been made known to the public. Then you've just got to start searching if you really want to listen that badly. I would be very surprised if they did not have a frequency that wasn't made public. I know they all have backup frequencies as well. During practice there seems to be a lot of "frequency switching". I'm assuming they don't want competitor's to know what they're doing. They all seem to come back to the original frequencies during the race, though, at least to start.

Re: Profanity on race radios

I would just like to point out that ALL radio communications are controlled by the FCC and ALL profanity is prohibited by LAW. True the FCC doesn't persue the lawbreakers at the track but it is still illegal, and wrong. I also don't agree with the people who complain about the profanity, because you can switch it off. The Woods Brothers used to start races by broadcasting a disclaimer that basically said in the heat of competition some flowery language may emerge so you may wish to tune out. However, comments about other drivers like the ones Brat Bush made are TOTALLY uncalled for. It shows what a young "punk" he is, and he needs to GROW UP.
