Sponsor for Kvapil at Atlanta? UPDATE: hearing that Zaxby's Restuarant's will sponsor Travis Kvapil's #28 Yates Racing Ford in a one-race deal for Sunday's Kobalt Tools 500 in Atlanta. Zaxby's restaurants also sponsors the #09 Craftsman Roush Racing truck that Kvapil drives on a part-time basis.(3-5-200
UPDATE: Yates Racing announced today that Zaxby's will sponsor the #28 entry with driver Travis Kvapil for this weekend's Sprint Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 9th. "I'm really thrilled to have Zaxby's as the sponsor of our #28 Ford Fusion for this weekend at Atlanta," stated Kvapil. "Having the opportunity to drive the Zaxby's Ford, and Atlanta being Zaxby's home base for the company, is a great tie-in. I know that we're going to have a lot of success for them on Sunday. Our Cup team has really been able to show our potential over the past few weeks, and I think that this is a great time for sponsors to jump on board to partner with our Yates Racing teams. I'm really looking forward to this weekend and representing Zaxby's."

Never really heard of that restaurant but that is great news for the 28, he deserved it. Hopefully he has a decent race in Atlanta and can secure a long-term sponsor.

Good to see/hear.

Travis has been a nice racer in our eye. Trucks and now Cup. One of those weird, almost embarassing to admit it thoughts of - "Geez he'd really catch on with perhaps a name like Speed Racer". Didn't feel good thinking it, but feel a bit better for letting it air out.

There's just a whole bunch of reasons we'd really like to see the combo of 28, Travis, and RYR shine. Hopefully this sponsorship leads to more that makes it happen. Go 28.

I know, I happy for Yates that they got a sponsor but, I was just pointing out how I'd never heard of that sponsor. If Kvapil continues to run well they will start getting some more big time sponsors.

I suspect that there are a few cars on the circuit that have sponsors you've never heard of. I had never heard of Furniture Row until a short whilke ago.. Honestly I had never heard of "Amp" before this year ??? Those are just two examples. The Yates sponsor may be a relative unknown but they must have some cash they are willing to part with.
