Pettys would like to build camp in KC area for seriously ill kids

Kyle Petty is one of NASCAR's most popular drivers, and he also helps run the legendary Petty Enterprises team owned by his father, Richard Petty. But it was Kyle Petty's role as a humanitarian that brought him to Kansas City this week. Petty said Tuesday afternoon that he and his wife, Pattie, are determined to build a camp that would help seriously ill children in the Midwest and that the Kansas City area is the preferred site for the facility. "We told some people that it's not if we build, it's a matter of when we build here," Petty said. -- KC Star

lots of folks thought they were crazy to build the Victory Junction camp. but now it's success is opening eyes, hearts and wallets. I wish the Pettys every success in this and future endeavors of this sort.
