Sorry to disagree with you, Once. I think generally that a Cup owner winning the Cup Lite Series just plain stinks. I will give you the point that this one doesn't fall to the level of "dead skunk on the side of the road" smell, only because a BGN driver got to run the #29 for a few races. For that I'd only rate it as a "rancid milk" smell.
All Richard did, with this win was to just be a party in the ruin of what was once a really good developmental series. Shame on you, Childress. Being the former boss of one of NA__AR's greatest drivers doesn't make you punctilious.

In answer to your question, you have to look at the season as a whole. Flipper, who ran the #60 in every race, had some really bad races. The #29 had fewer bad races but had three times the number of drivers.
The same thing is presently in Cup. Though Mark Martin dropped out of the top twelve early in the season, the #01 Bobby Ginn car was in the top twelve in
owner point up until around week 21 or 22.
