| Kimmel captures ninth ARCA title Frank Kimmel of Borden, Ind., won his ninth ARCA RE/MAX Series championship and eighth consecutive title by finishing fifth yesterday in the Hantz Group 200 by Belle Tire at Toledo (Ohio) Speedway. "It's just real cool and very rewarding," Kimmel said. "To be able to win this championship despite all of the competitive teams in ARCA this year … it was good to be able to win a ninth championship." Michael McDowell, a Phoenix, Ariz., rookie, passed James Buescher with two laps to go to win the race by two lengths. McDowell, running from the pole position, had led for 166 laps but fell behind on the 172nd lap. McDowell, on his way to the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series in 2008, sewed up Rookie of the Year honors and second place in national championship points -- 295 behind Kimmel.
