SO: the latest rumors have the sponsor being AMP Energy Drink, Mountain Dew and Army National Guard with the front runner on the car number is #81, with 88,58,82,38,28 being other rumored.

So the Mountain Dew rumors definitely seem to be accurate, given all the dots left out there for us to connect. Make sense, given Juniors popularity as well as the popularity of the beverage - definitely a hit among the younger set. Probably a smart career move for Junior if you think about it.

This was the type of sponsor they were looking for so that he could have a broader appeal. With the beer he couldn't (legally) connect with the under 21 crowd. I'm not a Dew drinker but I really don't care about the sponsorship either way. Bring on the racing. '08 will be a new and different year.

jr's what 30years old?, he too old to worry about the under age kids, I think he is better fitted to bud then to dew. and kasey kahne looks like he'd fit the dew look, kinda surfer dude, where bud is more good ole boy.

maybe jr's hitting the "I'm not getting old" part of life

but your right, it wasn't jr.'s choice, I just think the alingment of driver /sponsor could be better.

Maybe you're thinking about Joe Gibbs. I don't think he allows alcohol sponsors on his cars.

I'm glad they're finally gonna say officially who Jr's sponsor and car number is. I wonder if they're gonna unveil the new paint scheme next week too.
