Budweiser will sponsor Kahne's No.9 Kasey Kahne scored his best finish of the season two weeks ago at Bristol, Tenn. -- a runner-up showing -- and will have another new reason to celebrate soon. Sources confirmed that Budweiser will announce its sponsorship of Kahne's No. 9 Dodge, perhaps in the next two weeks. The beer maker has been on Earnhardt's No. 8 Chevy since he debuted in the Cup Series in 2000. But Earnhardt will get a new sponsor when he leaves his late father's team, Dale Earnhardt Inc., for Hendrick Motorsports beginning in 2008. This week Hendrick announced that Earnhardt's current crew chief, Tony Eury Jr., will join him there. -- Seattle P-I In the Fast Lane: NASCAR's top two to chase the Cup

Re: Budweiser will sponsor Kahne's No.9 It'll be good for Kasey. Bud don't need him to sell their beer, thank goodness. He just looks to young to even drink. I just can't picture him doing a Bud commercial. Maybe thats because I'm so use to seeing Jr doing them.

Re: Budweiser will sponsor Kahne's No.9 It will be interesting to see what Bud comes up for advertising. Kasey is just too baby faced to be hawking beer. My guess it will be some angle with the ladies chasing him to try and market more toward the female fans. Most beer commercials are targeted towards guys.

Re: Budweiser will sponsor Kahne's No.9 UPDATE 3: As expected, Budweiser will become the primary sponsor for Kasey Kahne and the #9 Dodge in 2008, sources confirmed Thursday. The deal for Budweiser to sponsor Kahne has been in the works for more than two months. GEM officials first had to make sure Dodge representatives were OK with the change. The Dodge dealers sponsor two GEM cars -- Kahne and the #19 driven by Elliott Sadler. Finalizing the deal with Budweiser also took longer than expected because all the parties had to agree on the percentages for licensing revenues.(ESPN.com)(9-14-2007)

I think they will market him from the stance that all the girls want him. No matter how baby-faced he may be -- he's a NASCAR girl's dream and that is what Bud will use to solicit males. And, to that point - I think that many Bud fans may lose the 8 and bump themselves up to the red 9 in support of their new "Kahne of Beers!" Also, should have heard Ryan Newman talk about his wife this week on his weekly Podcast at alltelracing.com. He chatted about he got really lucky and not only is she smart, but she is beautiful. It is so nice to see that one of the NASCAR guys is grounded. For some reason, I feel like Bud may take the wild side out of Kahne.

Re: Budweiser will sponsor Kahne's No.9 I'm sure that was a consideration for many but HMS wanted a wider sponsor appeal. Remember now that alcohol, theoretically, has legal age limits whereas soda products don't.
