| NASCAR in Primetime This'll be interesting. I haven't even seen the program yet and I already have issues with the hype ... "Over 40 percent of NASCAR fans are women." Really? I'm not arguing, I'm just surprised. "Movies like "Talladega Nights" have thrust stock car racing into the mainstream. " I can't believe I just read that. Are you kidding me? Who writes this crap? ABC News: NASCAR in Primetime: Life in the Fast Lane

Talledega nights was and is an insult to the sport that is held so high on my shelf. Will Farrell is an idiot. He has desicrated the sport of stock car racing. He needs to be keel hauled. What a moron. Hey, can ya tell I hate the jerk? |

| Re: NASCAR in Primetime I was going to go and see it until the unglowing reports started appearing. Will Farrell is another one of those actors that is pretty good in the SNL studio but is out of his comfort zone on the big screen. |

| Re: NASCAR in Primetime I said on some thread awhile back that the movie was trash. I can't believe NASCAR was on board with such a stupid movie. And we had to suffer through about 6,000 commercials for the movie until it finally came out. If I hadn't spent my own money on the TV I would have kicked the screen in after seeing those stupid commerials CONSTANTLY for what seemed forever. |

![]() As for Will, he was hired to perform a character. A stupid character at that. He does that well. That's ok in my book. BUT, the movie had nothing to do with NASCAR's popularity. That's what really got under my skin. I know ... I'm being hyper-sensitive to what some idiot wrote in an article promoting the program tomorrow night. http://www.smileycentral.com/sig.jsp?pc=ZSzeb095&pp=ZN |

I was skeptical about the show anyway, coming from ABC News. Now I'm even more skeptical about it. But...I'll watch it anyway just to see. Who knows, I might be surprised. |

Oh, well. I guess this is "the media on the media." It'll be interesting to see the reactions on GTG. The ESPN "Top 20 Greatest NASCAR Drivers" certainly provoked much debate! I'm hoping this will be a factual program, not just another NASCAR media event. |

Top 20 lists are always debatable, no matter what they are. Like "Top 20 Guitar Players of All Time." Go to any music forum and try getting everyone to agree on that one |

| Re: NASCAR in Primetime Yo PPS, So where are all these "40 percent gals who get into NASCAR" at? My racing caused a divorce. I never kept a barstool warm, I was home every night, so what I was in the shop playing with the racer, trying to make it better than the next guy's. But I was home. I guess because I wasnt watching some stupid tv show with her she felt neglected. I heard a couple times, "Sleep with your race car. You love it more than me." In my sociology 110 class I was asked what would make the perfect gal to date? Always the comic I stated, "She wears perfume that smells like 90 weight gearlube, hot rubber and race gas." The women that attend races here look like cows. Do they qualify as the 40%? Bummer. |

Having dated a member of a team, oh, yes. The car comes first. At first, I just didn't get it. Then, once I got to know racing, I understood. Put it this way: I'd rather have him with a bunch of guys and a race car than with another woman. "Cows"? |
