Just went to the Weather Channel, for the race, it says spectator events it's a 9, with 10 being the top. It says 10% chance of rain!! Sounds Good!!

They just addressed that on the broadcast in an interview with some suit from NASCAR. Basically, the crew chiefs can be on the premises, but they can't go anywhere or do anything that would require a NASCAR pass. I guess there's no way they could really ban them from being spectators, though.

Saw that. Don't have to have a pass to sit in motorcoach with a comp. and messaging to let the crew know what to do.

after listening to the interviews of Jeff Gordon & Jimmy Johnson they pretty much admit its no big deal to be without the crew chief. The points have made a dent in their lead but they are pretty much a given to make the chase and with the bonus win points they will be sitting pretty there. So I think the next step should be for Nascar to suspend them from a race in addition to the points penalty.
