| Re: Throwing Stuff So what, some ppl threw stuff. I was there and I hate Jeffy Poo, but didnt throw anything. But big deal. If any of you guys have been to a race then you would know that it is very expensive. Plus its hot as hell. Plus most ppl were drunk and not alot of guys like Jeff. If they choose to do that then let them. Nascar jerks us around all year with there hairbrain ideas and their mysterious cautions. Jaime McMurray should have been the leader when they started the Green-white-checkered anyway. Not Gordon. If Nascar does their job right, this doesnt happen. |

| Re: Throwing Stuff Let them? I have to disagree. Not only is it bad form, dirty, a prime example of bad fan-manship (as opposed to sportsmanship), it can be dangerous! What if one of those cans caught somebody on the head? What if some idiot in the back threw a can that didn't make it over the fence, and it hit a kid in the front? And its rude. Just because its NASCAR doesn't mean there should be a lack of manners. And if NASCAR is 'jerking us around' (and I'm not denying that they might be)... why should the fans stoop to their level? Hmmmm?

OK then ... I'm curious, just what does it make them ??? I'm not trying to start an argument but I am curious just what you would call someone who does something like that. Jerk is about the kindest name I could come up with. |

So, your saying its ok to throw trash because your perception is that NASCAR jerks us around? Are you still drunk? I've probably been to more races than you have. Yes, it was expensive. Yes, it was hot as hell. Yes, I was drinking. And no, I'm not a Gordon fan. But I would never, under any circumstances throw trash on the track! I respect the sport, which is something you obviously lack! It's people like you who give us true NASCAR fans a bad rep! Perhaps you should follow hockey and wrestling.

And i recall saying that i didnt throw stuff and i wouldnt. But big flippin deal. If Nascar would actually end these races with guys racing instead of going 55 mph under caution, ppl wouldnt be mad. And read the thread i posted. McMurray got screwed. He was in the lead and Nascar waited to throw the caution until Gordon took the lead. |

| Re: Are the majority of Nascar fans just complete jerks? So what if they do hate Jeff Gordon? BFD... it gives them NO excuse to throw stuff on the track. Its disrespectful of ALL drivers, not just the one they are booing. And... after reading Cross' Words on the NASCAR site... it seems that flying debris DID hit kids... what the hell is wrong with these people? If my niece were at one of these races and flying debris hit her... |

| Re: Are the majority of Nascar fans just complete jerks? You're right. It would make them a jerk behind bars. If someone threw a can and I saw it, I would do everything I could to make sure that person wouldn't do it again. I AM one of those fans who complain to NASCAR about this behavior. How would you or anyone else feel if you hit my 13 year old son in the back of the head? He has as much right to be at the track and enjoy himself as you do, so don't give me the "leave the kid at home" attitude. As far as NASCAR policing the crowd better, well, I guess they're going to have to. But how about adults take responsibility for themselves and actually act like adults! Put the blame where belongs - squarely on the shoulders of the people who think it's OK to put somebody else in harms way because they don't like the winning driver. That is beyond lame. I don't care that it makes NASCAR fans look like a bunch of redneck hillbillies. I could care less what others think in that respect. I care that my son or someone elses child might leave the track in an ambulance because somebody's upset Gordon (or whoever, pick a driver) won the race. |
