Re: Chrysler 400 in Las Vegas Johnson and team raced another solid race. Kenseth just put on a show until that last lap. Tony Stewart...well. Great race today out in Vegas. If someone doesn't stop Johnson soon, the cup is going their way.

| Re: Chrysler 400 in Las Vegas Well, wether you like JJ or not, it doesn't matter who you are, cheating is only going to carry you so far. The fact is, Johnson is a great driver. He's consistent. The question is: Can the other drivers get it together enough to race just as consistent and begin closing the gap. Kenseth sure proved he's up to the challenge the past couple of weeks.

Re: Chrysler 400 in Las Vegas I would disagree with that in a small way at least. The team, the driver and the car must all be working at peak performance together. There are good drivers out there in fair cars and vice versa. I don't think you can take someone like Kevin Lapage and put him in the 48 car and get the same results. Kevin is a good driver .... but generally a 34th place driver. It has been that way in every car he has been in, so I don't think it is just one aspect of the entire program.

Re: Chrysler 400 in Las Vegas Back to #20 and the cone.... What the heck? I cannot believe that the man hit the cone, and wasn't penalized. He HIT it. It's not like it MOVED twords his car. It's the commitment cone. Whether it was a couple of inches out-of-"perfect" position is irrelevant. No one else hit it prior to Tony. NASCAR's preferrential treatment has got to go. We MUST have consistancy. Something as distinct as hitting/not hitting a cone shouldn't be up to debate. Also, take a look at the McMurray thing. He and Waltrip both got into the back of other drivers and caused accidents. Waltrip penalized for rough driving, McMurray....nothing. However, at least the "rough driving" thing is grey area. The commitment cone is black and white (or at lease I THOUGHT it was). -jammin

There is one issue that came out of the Vegas race im surprised hasnt been brought up already. That would be the comments made by Tony Stewart about Kyle Busch. For those of you who dont know what im talking about read Last Lap article by Marty Smith on nascar.com. I am in no way a fan of Hendrick Motorsports, but Kyles so called, bad driving decisions, have put him in early contention for the championship. I seem to remember a few years ago how it was Tony Stewart who was the bad guy and guess what....he won the series championship. Now this year all he wants to do is whine and complain about rough driving and not apply the rules to himself. Just a couple weeks ago he had an inident early in the Daytona 500 where he could have let Jeff Gordon pass but instead got into the 24 and ruined Jeffs chances off contending in the race. Now he wants to turn around and complain because Kyle Busch denied him the same courtesy LATE in the race not early? So answer me this Stewart fans....when are the unwritten courtesies and rough driving rules going to apply to you as well....and when if your driver gonna stop whining every week and just admit he got beat by better drivers?

Re: Chrysler 400 in Las Vegas Hi wizardaj83, welcome to GoTeamsGo. I think nascar & tough driving go hand in hand. You've got to take some chances or you're not gonna win. It's just a fine line between being dangerous and a champion. In a way, it's like everything else in sports/business/life. If you take a chance & you win, you'll get the fame. If you take the chance and you crash, you'll get a different label. Stewart's definitely got the talent to be a champion, maybe just he's run out of luck for a while.

Re: Chrysler 400 in Las Vegas your absolutely right rmjvol, and ty for the welcome. I also believe that rough driving and good racing go hand in hand. The difference between a champ and a chump is the champ knows when and how to do all driving including rough driving the right way. I think im mostly just tired of drivers and fans who sit their and complain and whine when they lose just because the rough driving tactics didnt work for them but it worked for someone else. If anything these drivers should be complimenting young drivers like Kyle Busch who have done a great job at developing these skills so quickly. Sportsmanship is very big in my book. Just suck up the loss go home and try again next week. If you cant handle the losing maybe its time to change careers.

Re: Chrysler 400 in Las Vegas I suppose some people subscribe to the "If you can't race em wreck em" philosphy. There are clean racers that win it's a shame that some drivers have to resort to dirty racing to win.
