What did I miss? Newman said exactly what he thought, but I didn't perceive it as whining. Martin didn't really say anything, just that he didn't know what happened, and Gordon said "it's Talladega, what do you expect?" He was ticked because he ran out of fuel, which I don't blame him for. I didn't hear any whining. But if I were Richardson, I'd be whining. It's totally ridiculous that in the eyes of the commentator's he pretty much fell off the planet during that race. Thank gawd for the mute button. If I can't hear 'em, they can't tick me off.

Ur deaf if you couldn't tell in Marks voice that he was about to start crying. His answer was IDK for EVERYTHING they asked him. What happened out there..."IDK"...How much will this affect the points standings..."IDK". Then Newman said Edwards flipped in the spring and NASCAR did nothing to prevent it when they clearly tried by pretty much slowing the cars down by 20 m/h. Then Newman goes on saying it was a boring race for the fans...which was pretty much caused by NASCAR trying to make the race safer. Either we have an exciting race and allow the cars to go the speed they can...or we have a less exciting race but make it safer for the drivers. Sorry Newman...but you can't have both. And with Gordon saying..."It's Talladega, what do you expect"! If ya can't take the pain...don't play the game. These guys run the risk of things happening, and considering how long they have been at the sport...this should just become a normal thing. It won't go right every time...that doesn't mean you gotta complain when it doesn't go ur way.

i do want to point out we can't equate newman and martins flips newman was more of a classic blowover style flip mark looked like a dirt car that hooked to the right and barral rolled not exactly the same thing marks goes more to my point i made after dover about the car rolling more if it gets up on its wheels while ryan just spun and went for a law of physics induced ride

Back to the topic though...why does this guy deserve the media attention you all say he does anyway? I'm not trying to sound mean here,,,but I have heard it both off and on this site...people saying dega is a crap shoot and anyone can win it. Right place right time...and you win the race. He didn't win...or even get a top 10 for that matter. Sure he might be a rookie, but he got through a wreck a finished 18th. Why should he get media attention for that?

Considering he is a rookie and kept his nose clean at a track like DEGA, made it through and finished respectively he should get some air time. He could be a possible future star.

some of us get sick of seeing the same couple of people each week. TV could take those same few at the beginning of each year, sit them in front of a blue screen, do the interview and each week change the background. Obviously NASCAR thinks we are stupid so they would think we wouldn't catch on to the exact same questions/answers each week.
