| So glad Nascar decided last minute to change rules and forced an even smaller restrictor plate on drivers, so not one but 2 cars could go airborne. Mark Martin, usually a very grateful to fans and sponsors driver, was obviously p*ssed, can't say I blame him. He had a shot at actually having a chance at JJ, but now Nascar's chosen one might as well be crowned, there's no way he can not win the Cup. Nascar, let them race. Nascar, my 8 yr old son could see it was the wing that got Newman airborne, why can't you? Nascar, smaller plates didn't prevent anything, it caused it to happen more. Hey Nascar, here's a dollar, bo buy a clue.

| Re: Most boring race in history BoreFest at Tallageda.... It will go down in the history books as NASCAR's most embarassing exhibition race ... especially considering it took place during the "CHASE" for the championship. Only ones chasing anything are the fans.... all trying to find a REAL race instead of a manufactured performance. |

| Re: Most boring race in history I'd rather watch them race go-karts at 55mph than that mess yesterday. It's not about the speed. There are 3-4 race tracks that NASCAR goes to that the cars achieve a greater speed. Even if NASCAR has to come up with a wildly different car or engine package I don't care if they drive around at 150mph put some competition back into it. In two races this year at Dega we've had two wrecks that were just about as bad as the wreck that caused them to go to the restrictor plates to begin with. Think about this, Newman isn't the tallest driver in NASCAR and his head was against the roll bar. What if it had been Waltrip who is a good 6" or more taller than Newman? There's nothing good going on with the whole deal. It's not safe anymore, the racing is poor, the fans are ticked off, the drivers are ticked off. Who exactly is "happy". |

| Re: Most boring race in history Nope, the 08 Indy debockal will never be bumped from the bottom of all time races. With that said, yesterday will probably rank in the top 5 worst. Nascar has only one choice if they want to keep Dega on the schedule. That would be to remove the banking, or at least half of it, so that the cars would have to lift in the corners. As is, Dega might as well be ran as a series of heats like the allstar event. Eliminate the 100 single file laps and just go with a series of 25 lap shootouts with the top 10 from each heat advancing to a final run. Dega can not be tamed in its current config. No one wants to watch 43 underpowered cars drive around in single file. Interest in the "Big One", may be nothing more than sheer bordom by the fans. I'm sure that JJ is not proud of his 6th place, but after all it was never anything but a lottery anyway. JJ's ticket was the winner in chase points. Congrats to the 26, but it could have been any of 15 or 20 other cars. Replay the final 25 laps 10 times and McM doesn't win more than 2 of them. Was ready to order tickets for next years Spring race at Dega. Now why waste the gas. |
