I seldom comment on the driving talents of a driver. In my mind they are all above average and are
usually in their prime from their middle 20's to somewhere around their late 30's. Commenting on NA__AR, the owners, etc., etc. is another matter.
That said I think Junior could be in his prime and he has a very good record. I just don't think the kid has forgotten how to drive and I don't think that he's peaked. I believe that the family turmoil created pressure and the fact that he was NA__AR's most visible and popular driver, thus making demands on him from sponsors and the public didn't help thinks a bit. Moving the HMS was also a negative factor. Going from top gun at DEI to sharing top billing with Jeffie-Pooh and Jimmy would be a tough act.
I think that IF he gets his head on straight during the off season, he'll bounce back bigger than life. If he doesn't, he'll be relegated to the ranks of the drivers who have a "What if...?" always attached to their name. I wish him the best. I think he's a likable kid who is honest to a fault. I believe that he has the potential to make a great role model and a respectable Champion.
