| Re: 2010 #1 driver TBA soon I also agree... what is this fascination with David Gilliland he seems like a nice enough guy but I have never been overly impressed with him on the track. I also know he has wrecked a lot of race cars. I also agree, you can't blame equipment for all your short comings. Sorenson, Streeme, Mears and Jamie mac have all had their fair shake... Heck throw Truex and Sadler into that mix too... There must be a lot of politics in this sport when these above mentioned continue to keep getting rides. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out how Casey Mears got the job at RCR after he failed at Ganassi and HMS.... And there sat AJ Allmendinger and Ragen Smith on the side lines. If I were EGR, I would but Ragen Smith in that #1 car. Other then JPM he was the only one that got you any where near a chance to win a race (talladega 200 |

| Re: 2010 #1 driver TBA soon I think I know why people are fascinated with Gilly. It is because when he was at Yates last year, he, along with Travis, were able to run well in mostly unsponsered and underfunded equipment. And, he was able to compete with Kyle and Jeff for a road course win, remember that battle? I think Regan Smith should still where he is at (and he will). The #78 team has been running well this year in the races they have participated in. I really think that the #1 will go to Bobby. At least, I hope it will.

| Re: 2010 #1 driver TBA soon To be fair, Bobby has run well in his races with TRG, but I think EGR is better for the long term. With a team in championship contention, they have already proven themselves. I could see Sorenson or Stremme ending up at TRG. |

| Re: 2010 #1 driver TBA soon I was hoping either jamie mcmurray or terry or bobby labonte would get the ride in the 1 car. I wonder what terry could do in that car but i don't know if he wants to run a full schedule again? |

| Re: 2010 #1 driver TBA soon I just wonder what's gonna happen when EGR brings Jeffrey up to drive the #8 car, like they're planning on doing. That's not to far away, from what I've read. Wouldn't that shake things up again, unless they add a 4th car? |

| Re: 2010 #1 driver TBA soon He's 20 years old. He went through a period of wild oats, got in trouble, but Kerry got hold of him and seems to have straightened him out. He's run 25 races over 3 years in the CWE Series with 0 wins, 9 top 5's and 13 top 10's. This year he ran in 2 Nationwide Series races and finished 24th and 31st. Last I heard, the plans were to run him in all the Nationwide Series races in 2010 to contend for Rookie of the Year. As far as taking after his dad or granddad, I haven't seen it yet. Hope that helps, oncea3fan. |

I just think with Bobby's champion provisional it will pay more else where. What was it Kurt Busch said when asked about all of Kyles recent wins? he said "yeah but I got a championship, the gift that keeps giving"... Remember when they used his points for Hornish and Kurt's Provisional? Big bucks there! |
