Another point: If a "chaser" is mathematically eliminated from winning the title is NASCAR going to tell them not to race the contenders hard?
I have a feeling that if Earnhardt Sr. was still here we wouldn't have the "Chase"

If Big E were still around we wouldn't have alot of things we have today in NA$CAR. Hell we might even be lucky and not have Brian France... that or we would here about the weekly France vs. Earnhardt bout.

I agree. Nascar seems to implement well managed decisions. Sometimes risky, but with the right state of mind.

Fans are not going to jump ship because of this. And if they do, does are sport need that watered down fascination?

I think they will lose some. I for one did not watch last weekends race and will not watch this one, or the rest of this season. Will I watch next year? Who knows. When Nascar tells a race car driver not to race certain ones hard, then it's no longer racing, to me.

Re: Should Nascar Have Told Keselowski Not To Race Chasers

I'm sure they will lose a few, but nothin that will hurt them. I seriously doubt jks will quit watching because of that...but if she does, I disagree with her decision. A bit of Contact occured and nascar said what they did right away most likely without even thinkin. I seriously doubt what happened means that no more hard racing will ever be allowed! And if people thinks thats the case...then I believe they need to rethink.

It's not just that. It's all the inconsistencies they continue to do. As far as disagreeing with my decision, thats fine, doesn't bother me one bit. But seriously I haven't quit watching Nascar, I will still watch every truck race and the occasional busch race, just no cup races.
And the bit of contact was not Brad's fault, so why warn him? Oh thats right the one that did the contact was a chase driver.
They said what they did right away most likely without thinking? Sure they did, they've done it every race, when there's contact. Oh wait, no they haven't, only during the chase.

Re: Should Nascar Have Told Keselowski Not To Race Chasers

Nascar has always been known for being inconsistent, I mean whatever happened to them beating and banging! Like in the old days, they would let a spun out car sit on the track and never throw a caution, but we are in " The Chase" era now, or in other words the Dumb points system era. If I were president of Nascar, there would be alot of things I would change including The Chase points system, and The Following Tracks Would be the Chase

Chicago
Rockingham
Dover
Pocono
Bristol
Sonoma
Kansas
Talladega
Darlington
Homestead

JKS let me ask you this.... do you just watch Sprint Cup, NW and trucks or do you watch all forms of motorsports? Do you watch IRL, NHRA, Formula 1.?
I'm just curious...If you watched the latter you would know this happens all the time. If you watched the former you will Know this happens all the time.

Hopefully you will avoid all things ARCA and NHRA!!
Did you see that las ARCAt race at rockingham where the one team told the other team not to pass to preserve the championship?????
Did you watch the US nationals at Indy where John Force took a dive?? All forms of motorsports are BS.... AND I LOVE IT! I'm just glad the things that happened in ARCA or NHRA didn't happen in NASCAR Cup....I'd never hear the end of it!!

Re: Should Nascar Have Told Keselowski Not To Race Chasers

I mostly just watch Nascar. I don't watch IRL, Formula 1 or ARCA at all, and maybe will watch NHRA once or twice(if nothing else is on).
