That is my opinion on the drivers ok. Its nothing to get worked over about. You almost sound like you are one of the drivers or works for Hendrick! Everyone has an opinion on each driver and thats mine.

How 'bout this...I don't think Jeff's gonna get 5 because he doesn't have Dale Earnhardt to race against anymore. Dale pushed Jeff to do things on the track he didn't think he could. He's even said that in interviews. During those days, they were racing to win. Yes, Jeff won his last championship the year Dale died, but that was not unexpected, to me. I believe he raced that year to honor the death of his friend. But after that, no more championships. After that, who took the place of Dale on the track to push Jeff to win? Who took the place of Dale as a rival to Jeff. Who put the fans in the seats like Dale and Jeff did?

Yea, I know, that's really off the wall...but it's possible, isn't it?

As a Jeff fan, I actually think your opinion is not so bad. Jeff can't exactly have the huge rivalry with JJ. He owns JJ's car. Dale Jr. did good for a while but we all know where he's at now.

I think you two nailed it. I hadn't thought of it that way.

but I'd add one more thing into the mix. Jeffie's a proud dad. and that's taken a lot of his focus away from the track. yeah, he's still competitive, but he's not being pushed. he's enjoying real life now and that takes the edge off competition.

Since this topic is about Jeff.... Does anyone think that it ever passed Jeff's mind that ever since winning the first COT plate race, that he's

(A. Had Mechanical Failure

or

(B. Crashed out of every single plate race barring the Daytona 500 08 and 09?

And do you think it'll ever occur to jeff that the only way he'll win another plate race is by playing the strategy that got him the win?



I've noticed that his strategy on the plate races has always been since '07 is get up to the front as fast as possible. And then he gets caught up in a wreck...
