I vote we that opinions not be allowed and we only be able to state the facts! I see quite a few people on here...including me acouple times, get in trouble for stating opinions. So how bout no more opinions??? Then the admins won't have to threaten people anymore? JThats just my opinion though!

Jeff Gordon in my opinion will not make a fifth championship this year. He whines to much lol! But also I think he might retire earlier than expected because of his back issues. Jimmie Johnson I'm so sick of hearing about him last week I almost had to turn off the prerace stuff! Kept asking him about making another championship in a row ok their are other drivers out their trying to make the championship just not him get over it people! Ok now for my Tony "Stewie" Stewart. I believe he will win the championship he is hungry for that championship because he has the drive in him to do it and being the first year as owner/driver that is more of an incentive to do it. To bad I can't sit next to him at the banquet! LOL! Oops sorry everyone I was fantasizing! Sorry but opinions are encouraged. Negative comments about someone else's opinions is not OK. That has always been a part of the forum rules. My suggestion is and always has been that if you do not like my opinion or anyones opinion then avoid the thread. Seems very simple.

ok then...not my point but w/e. I was pretty much asking if she didn't think they would win the championships and the reason being because they are whiners.

Technically youre both right .... the Steelers won 4 Super Bowls in the decade that encompassed the 70's ....... and the last one was in 1980.

As you may or may not be aware .... the very first year on the calendar we use was year 1 .... therefore, the last year in the first decade was year 10 ....... as such the end of the 70's was indeed 1980. As it seems some may not have been aware .... the last year of the previous decade - century - millennium was in fact 2000 ..... Dec. 31st 1999 was no more special the Dec. 31st 1998.

Wow I didn't think people still got fired up over my boy Jeff but I'm glad they still do.

So Simon I actually do agree with you that if Jeff does win #5 this year it will be somewhat equivalent to Dale and Richard. Simply because if the Chase was never invented, Jeff would be a 6 time champion right now. That is a fact according to the numbers. However we all must accept the Chase and change with the times.

As for Dale and Richard they were before my time but I do agree also that the racing now is SOOOOO much different than long ago. I read all about how there were 3 cars on the lead lap. So I let Simon have his opinion.

I do feel like Jeff has a good chance (not on last week's performance that's for sure) but on overall season performance. He was 3rd in the points standing meaning he was 3rd most consistent with high finishes.

I think Mark is on a role and I wouldn't be sad if he won. But they pin him as the perpetual underdog which really isn't true. Oh and by the way did you know that guy is 50 years old!

I think Jeff is about 1 in 5 that have a real great chance at the title. Oh and please please don't let JJ get another one. Even though it's $$ in Jeff's pocket, I don't care.

True, but if you look at it, they won in January of those years of which the season started out the previous year, so 74,75, 78, and 79.

I say Jeff is nearing the end of his career and I wouldn't blame him if he was done within the next two years, I mean what does he have to lose he has all the money in the world, a beatiful wife and daughther and has a had one hell of a racing career. Don't get me wrong I would love to see the # 24 back in Championship form, but with his current on track performance it's either up or down, not consistent. Mind you, he did have all those back problems especially after the wreck at Watkins Glen. I believe the 4 Legitimate Title Contenders will be The Kid, Johnson, Montoya, and Hamlin, and possibly even Kurt Busch. Whom, I personally would love to see get another championship especially before Pat Tryson leaves for MWR in 2010.

I firmly believe the Jeff will win a 5th, but I don't think it will be this year.

I am not a fan of Jeff's but I truly think he is still one of the best, and if or when he gets his 5th it will truly be earned.
