Roush Fenway looking for sponsors Roush Fenway Racing looking for sponsors: Roush Fenway Racing is still looking for many sponsors for next season. What it is not looking for is sponsorship for Danica Patrick. Roush Fenway President Geoff Smith said time is running out to get sponsorship for the organization's #26 team in order to be able to move that group to Yates Racing. Roush Fenway must cut from five to four Cup teams after the 2009 season. It still needs to find half a season of sponsorship for #17-Matt Kenseth on the Cup side as well as sponsors to help field the organization's three or four Nationwide teams. Smith said the problem in trying to do a multiple-sponsor deal with one team is that the organization can't guarantee it would run the entire season. Even if a company isn't interested in a full primary sponsor role, it wants to be with a team that is running the full schedule, Smith said.(SceneDaily)(9-8-2009)

Re: Roush Fenway looking for sponsors Boohoo! I hope Roush never finds what he needs. Hey Roush here is a thought cut you nationwide teams and you will have the sponsorship needed for cup. doesn't mAtter I am sure he is working on a deal to steal ask.com from HOF Racing.

Re: Roush Fenway looking for sponsors It seems Roush Racing lost a little something when they let Mark Martin get away. He was a positive force, a well seasoned vet and a good mentor to have in the garage. Even though Roush has 3 drivers in the chase (at least B4 Richmond) they have lost some of the pizazz of seasons past.

Re: Roush Fenway looking for sponsors I don't think there are many teams out there that aren't looking for sponsors. With the economy in the state that it is currently in .... sponsors are looking for more bang for their buck. A car running in 29th place, a lap down doesn't command much TV time.

Re: Roush Fenway looking for sponsors I think this is a case of biting off more than they can chew. Do they really need 3 to 4 Nationwide teams? I think it is time for Roush to step up and tell Edwards, Biffle, Ragan, and Kenseth that maybe they should focus more on their Cup program.

Re: Roush Fenway looking for sponsors I thought one of the purposes of "bringing in" Fenway was to attract more sponsorship opportunities. Sure doesn't seem to be working that way, regardless of the economy.

No sympathy from me about any doings at Roush, just think about where that organization would be if they hadn't ended up with the Yates engines |

Re: Roush Fenway looking for sponsors In all honesty I will refuse to blame the economy on this one. I will blame the economy for reasons why BLab is thrown from ride to ride, or why someone like Robby Gordon can't find a sponsor. When you have a team as large as Roush I just think it is a little over kill if you ask me. This is where 5 (7 if you count Yates) cup car and 4 Nationwide teams comes and bites you in the arse. Maybe Roush should try scaling back a little and maybe he wont have this problem.
