South Carolina football coach Steve Spurrier is a big fan of NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. while Junior has become a huge fan of the Gamecocks.
The two got together Tuesday night when Spurrier took time from preparing for No. 12 Georgia on Saturday to be a guest on Earnhardt Jr.'s satellite radio show.
"I'm a big fan of Steve's and pretty much the Gamecocks," Earnhardt Jr. said. Spurrier wasn't always much of a race fan. However, after former South Carolina athletic spokesman Kerry Tharp took a job with NASCAR in 2005, Tharp asked Spurrier if he wanted to visit the Nextel Cup race at Daytona International Speedway, the Pepsi 400, in July of that year.

Hey i saw Steve Spurrior this past saturday, i went to a Florida Gator game,( I love the Gators!!!) he was there along with the whole 1996 Championship team it was awesome!!! whats funny is in last month issue of nascar illustrated they had a picture of JR. in a gator hat, i though that was pretty cool.

That is all Jr. needs. Another fan. Like he dosn't have enough already,and based on the ones I have seen at the races out here in Phoenix the last 2 years, the majority have an IQ only slightly higher than the seats they were sitting on.

So basically you're saying that some of the seats out there are smarter than than many of the other NASCAR drivers ????? or is Phoenix just a dumb place to race ???

I am a fan of most of all of the Roush drivers, now that Kurt Bush is gone. I really like Kenseth, Biffle and Edwards. The only drivers I really don't like at all are Jimmie Johnson and David Green, although Tony Stewart is starting to grate on me quite a bit lately.

What the heck does Osama the terrorist scum have to do with immature Jr fans at a race? Here is the issue I have with a great deal of his fans. They show up to the race plastered. Act like giant φφφφφes during the entire race. He gets passed, they cheer. He passes someone to go from 24th to 23rd, they stand up and cheer like he just won the Daytona 500. High fives all the way around, spilling beer all over each other and the people sitting in the two rows in front of behind them. And it never stops. The group of about 20 sitting in front of me at the Spring Phoenix race were the biggest bunch of stooges I may have ever seen. It was an embarassment.

Personally, I like Junior. I think he is a cool guy. It is a large number of his fans that I have a problem with.
