| USF seems to be “Linebacker U” of the Big East Who has the Big East’s best linebackers year-in and year-out? No disrespect to anyone in the Big East, but USF seems to be “Linebacker U” of the Big East; at least in my opinion. What's your opinion? I know Pitt has produced some good talent also. Louisville had potential NFL talent but they don’t seem to make the cut. Former coach Petrino of Univ. of Louisville always remarked on linebackers and even drafted one in his short stint with Atlanta Falcons. Here is their next NFL star’s results at the combine: Moffitt Scores High Marks at Combine Courtesy: USF Release: 02/25/2008 TAMPA -- Former USF linebacker and third team All-American Ben Moffitt posted impressive numbers during his Monday workout at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Ind. Moffitt placed among the top three performers in three workouts and also collected a sixth place finish. Moffitt was second in the three-cone drill with a time of 6.75 seconds. He fell just short of Purdue product Stanford Kegler by .05. Moffitt was third among all linebackers in broad jump with a leap of 10'3". He trailed co-leaders Gary Guyton (Virginia Tech) and Wesley Woodyard (Kentucky), who both jumped 10'6". The Bushnell, Florida product also finished third in the 20-yard shuttle with a time of 4.21 seconds. Keglar and former Idaho LB David Vobora bested the former Bull in the 20-yard agility drill. Moffitt rounded out his Monday performance with a 32.5 inch vertical leap, good for sixth among the backers and four inches off the top mark at the position. Moffitt did not participate in the 40-yard dash and was not recognized as a top performer by NFL.com in bench press repetitions. |
