| Heisman hopeful Blake Mitchell
South Carolina QB Blake Mitchell is a Heisman hopeful, but his stock seems to be on the decline. That's because the junior is looking over his shoulder at redshirt freshman Cade Thompson, who had an impressive spring. According to what coach Steve Spurrier told Street & Smith, "Blake didn't play his best... but he's still the starter. But it was encouraging that Cade says, 'Hey, if something happens, I can go play.'" One has to wonder if Mitchell will have a short leash with a kid like Thompson behind him.
