Do What?

Spurrier refuses to comment on a phone call placed to his agent by Tennessee.

Spurrier not ready to write legacy

Now that Tennessee's Phillip Fulmer is on his way out at season's end, Steve Spurrier will take over as dean of SEC coaches.
The Head Ball Coach is in his fourth season at South Carolina and spent 12 seasons at Florida from 1990-2001. He won six SEC titles and a national title while coaching the Gators, but is still looking for his first SEC Championship Game appearance at South Carolina.
Spurrier, 14-16 against SEC teams since coming to South Carolina, isn't real interested in dissecting what his legacy will be. At least, not yet.
"Whatever it was at Duke and Florida and South Carolina, it will be whatever it is," said Spurrier, whose Gamecocks have won five of their last six games this season. "Close losses years from now ... they're nothing but a loss. If we're going to have a big year here, we've got to learn how to win some of those close games.
"If we win some close ones and win a championship here, I'll have a pretty good legacy. How's that?"
