| Notes: Isaac ‘will play’, says defensive coordinator Five days ago, it appeared senior Brandon Isaac’s season might be over. But today when the USC football team leaves for LSU, not only will Isaac be on the plane, he is also likely to play in Saturday’s game. Isaac, a cornerback who began the year at safety, bruised his left shoulder in last Saturday’s game against South Carolina State. Isaac had the same shoulder surgically repaired last year, causing him to miss the season. The same worry arose after the newest injury, but USC defensive coordinator Tyrone Nix said Isaac “will play,” though he will not start. “You know how injuries are sometimes,” Nix said. “Sometimes it looks worse than it really is. Sometimes it looks small, and it’s a little bit worse. Nathan Pepper didn’t look like it was that bad, he’s out for the season.” LetsshowTillman.com? The Gamecocks have a new television critic, though coach Steve Spurrier didn’t disagree with his morbid assessment. During a web video previewing the SEC game of the week, CBS Sports analyst Spencer Tillman said he expected second-ranked LSU to rout No. 12 South Carolina. “This is not Georgia,” Tillman said. “I think LSU wins by at least four touchdowns.” Told of those comments, Spurrier continued his weeklong approach of, in his words, being realistic.
