| South Carolina Football | Spurrier envies Georgia’s tradition South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier turned on the video of Georgia’s opening-game victory against Oklahoma State and saw a team he would like the Gamecocks to become. Despite major personnel losses along the offensive and defensive lines, the 13th-ranked Bulldogs racked up 376 yards and shut out the Cowboys in the second half for a 35-14 victory. With three division titles and two SEC championships during Mark Richt’s six-year tenure, the Bulldogs are not big on the concept of rebuilding. “They’ve got a winning tradition there and it repeats itself the way their guys play. I’ve been watching the tape of their Oklahoma State game,” Spurrier said Sunday. “Doesn’t matter if they’re freshmen, sophomores or whatever, when they come to Georgia they’re expected to play at an extremely fast pace and play well. “We’re trying to get to that level. We weren’t there (Saturday) night. We haven’t been there, really. But we’re trying to get there.” Spurrier envies Georgia’s tradition
