| Lindsey’s eligibility still up in the air Moments after South Carolina defensive end Jordin Lindsey said he was “100 percent” cleared academically to play this season, Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier said the senior’s status remains in limbo. “I’m not sure that he’s right,” Spurrier said following Monday’s practice. “I wish I was 100 percent sure that he knows what he’s talking about. I think there’s a waiver that has to get cleared before that happens. I think. I can’t say he’s cleared. I’m not sure.” Lindsey, a returning starter from Mobile, Ala., blamed the eligibility issue on a “miscommunication” between him and his professor over grades in a speech class that Lindsey took during the second session of summer school.
