Spurrier says summer training key in SEC

Spurrier said player participation in the voluntary summer workouts is the best it has been since he arrived at USC three years ago. The extra conditioning could prove to be beneficial for the Gamecocks in games that come down to the wire.

Re: Spurrier says summer training key in SEC

Conditioning often is the difference maker. Heck, Tuck, wasn't that one of the big knocks on Shula - that his teams weren't good enough in the fourth quarter. It sounds cliche, but the team that has the best condition and can play four full, solid quarters quite often is the one who pulls it out in the end.

Re: Spurrier says summer training key in SEC

Coditionning really is key especially in the SEC. Most of the Schools in the SEC don't see a game (daytime) below 80 degrees until mid to late october. Belive me Early september in the deep south is brutally hot and humid.
