| Gamecocks spring football The University of South Carolina football squad went through a two-hour session at the Bluff Road practice fields on Tuesday in perfect weather conditions, the first of 15 spring practice sessions for the squad. The team, practicing for the first time since its 2006 Liberty Bowl win over Houston, worked out without pads on Tuesday. The next scheduled practice is set for Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. The team will also practice on Friday at 4, then will hold a scrimmage on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Williams-Brice Stadium. | Gamecocks Revise Practice Schedule The University of South Carolina football team has revised its practice schedule for the final few days of spring camp, head coach Steve Spurrier announced today. The Gamecocks will not work out on Wednesday as previously scheduled. They will return to the practice fields on Thursday at 4 p.m, then conduct their final spring practice on Friday at 4:15 p.m. in preparation for Saturday's Garnet & Black Game. | Friday's Practice Report The South Carolina Gamecocks split their squad into the "Garnet" and "Black" teams and practiced separately on Friday afternoon for about 45 minutes in their final tuneup prior to Saturday's Garnet & Black Game, which will be the final effort of the spring. Coaches Steve Spurrier, Jr. and Ron Cooper led the Black team at the Bluff Road practice fields, while David Reaves and Shane Beamer led the Garnet team through their drills at Williams-Brice Stadium.
