On a cool and windy St. Patrick’s Day, the green-clad Gamecocks squared off against the LSU Tigers in the second game of their weekend series. However, on this day, Irish eyes were smiling only on the Tigers, as the Gamecocks fell 6-5. Pitching was once again the name of the game for these two teams. LSU’s Jared Bradford dominated the Gamecocks for 8.1 innings. He gave up just 3 runs on 6 hits. Mike Cisco was charged with the task of keeping pace with Bradshaw. Cisco got off to a slow start, giving up a run on two hits in the first inning. He quickly settled in and mowed down eight consecutive batters. However, once again LSU catcher Sean Ochinko had the luck of the Irish with him. Ochinko, who drove in the first run for LSU, hit a fourth inning solo home run to put LSU up 2-0. “Cisco pitched his heart out for us,” said Coach Ray Tanner. “[It was] two pitchers going at it pretty good, and Bradford was just too much for our offense.” Scout.com: St. Patrick's Day Not Kind To Gamecocks

Re: Gamecocks vs. LSU baseball So the Gamecocks win 2 of 3, but you show up and post the win on our board? How long do you give the new baseball coach before you go after another?

Re: Gamecocks vs. LSU baseball Wow .. you can't be serious about pressure in LSU Baseball!??? I think that may be the most pressure filled job. Skip Bertman put you guys on the map as a perennial power. You guys made going to the World Series an annual trip with Bertman. Smoke could not duplicate that success(who could ...) and he got axed. He was still pretty successful .. very successful if you don't compare him with Skip .. The new guy will have 3 years at most if you guys continue to play like you are now. LSU Baseball is usually second to none ...
