Sidney Rice announced today his plans to head to the NFL, naming himself eligible for the NFL Draft. He is three years removed from high school although he is a sophmore for the Gamecocks.

He had a great year this season and could be a top receiver selected.

I don't know much about the kid but I figure him to be no less than a late 2nd round pick. He has some nice measureables...6'4 and a 35" vertical.

Sidney is a great receiver that runs great routes. He catches over the middle, and has great hands.

I think he will go late first round, depending on the needs of the NFL. I see Calvin Johnson from GT going 1st, and then possibly USC's Jarrett if he declares for the draft.

Sidney has 6'4 size and a great ability to get open.

He has been nothing but great for the Gamecocks and will shine in the NFL.
