The University of South Carolina has signed three junior college players to National Letters of Intent, it was announced today. The newest Gamecocks are wide receiver Larry Freeman, defensive back Sam Pope and defensive tackle Jonathan Williams.

According to this story, Freeman is a 6-2, 212-pound wide receiver from Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Miss.; Pope is a 6-1, 195-pound defensive back who played at Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit, Miss.; and Williams is a 6-4, 275-pounder defensive tackle who played at Mississippi Delta Community College in Moorhead, Miss. What do you think of their signings?

These three are just the beginning of a HUGE signing class for USC.

Williams the DL is suppose to be awesome.

Pope the DB is going to be reevaluted and is very good.

Freeman was very highly recruited and will fit in with Spurriers offense well.

Unlike most recruiting seasons, we are really pulling in the blue chippers.

We have one 5 star Safety/WR in Mark Barnes. He is going to be something to watch.

Brian Maddox is a tremendous talent at RB and another local guy.

Steven Garcia from Florida is our QB of the future ... or soon to be present

we have several commits from DL's that will really help.

Cliff Mathews, Travanian Robertson are the 4 stars

We have 2 4 star receivers also in Larry Freeman and Matt Clements

We also have many 3 * 's with tons of potential.

This class looks very strong ... assuming all of them actually sign their LOI.

From his comments, USC likes him at WR .. but we have more of a need at safety if you ask me. We are about to sign 6 wr's this class and have Sydney Rice, Kenny McKinley, and two Browns coming back ... so that is a ton of WR's

Knowing Spurrier .. he may try and play him both ways!

Head Coach Steve Spurrier announced the arrival of four incoming freshmen to the Gamecock football squad as spring semester classes got underway Tuesday on the University of South Carolina campus. The newcomers are Ladi Ajiboye, Ryan Broadhead, Stephen Garcia and Travian Robertson.

Spurrier's doing a heck of a job getting these guys in. SC should be a tough team over the next few years, no doubt about it.

u are proving that the the chicken curse is just a myth and that carolina is going to be a winning football team. you took this job as more of a challenge than rather the money and that shows a winning drive to win. i know everybody is excited for years to come!
