University of South Carolina defensive end Eric Norwood has been named to the Rivals.com second team Freshman All-America squad, while Norwood, linebacker Rodney Paulk and safety Emanuel Cook were named to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman squad as selected by The Sporting News.

What do you guys think of this kid Norwood?

Accoring to this story, he's "Norwood, a 6-2, 256-pound true freshman from Acworth, Ga. was the only true freshman defensive lineman on the ballot for all-SEC honors. He leads the team and is tied for eighth in the SEC with 7.0 sacks, figuring in on five solo and four assisted sacks. He also leads the team with five quarterback hurries and is third on the team with 9.0 tackles for loss among his 29 total stops."

He's tough!!! Another one of Spurier's great recruits. Can't wait to see what this year's class hs to offer!

Thanks for the BIG welcome!! I just discovered this blog today. I had heard a lot about Steve and Bama, so I had to take time to investigate for myself. Glad I found GTG! I work a lot but intend to check in regularly. people in SC LOOOOVE Spurier!! (Not Clemson fans, though) I'm glad they sweetened his pot! We need stability and he can provide that. I need to find out more about recruit commitments.

I played in high school at North Cobb with him. I graduated a year before him. Eric played LB,DE, and TE in high school.

This kid is going to the NFL. Trust me.
