Portugal 0, England 0 (Portugal won shootout 3-1)

I caught the latter half of this game...which is a shame. England's attack looked good, but with Rooney out and Beckham on the sidelines injured....no one was left to finish some of their late game rushes. Hated to see England bounced out this way.

The British goalkeeper Robinson was basically a spectator during the shootout as he failed to even touch a single shot. The Portugese goalkeeper was on every shot and stopped 3 of the 4 he faced and the 4th one he got a hand on but it made it in. I was impressed by Portugese striker Cristiano Ronaldo, a very dangerous attacker and solid player.

Yeah, but shootout aside...England's attack was much better...they jsut couldn't finish it...I hate when it coems down to a shootout

So disappointed. Was cheering for england, how much fun would that have been? in the end, those portugal shooters just knew where to put it, and yeah the portugese goalie was realy good.
The extra time and then shootout - that was nail biting.
Then we hear France beats Brazil. wow. At least one upset.

Maybe England and Brazil can get to together for the All-Disappointment Cup....I hate single round eliminations...
