| Re: Greg Ryan Out as US Women's Soccer Coach No matter the sport, unless there's an injury, the starter usually is the player that you stick with. I mean, if you had the confidence in this player to use them throughout the tourney, why all of a sudden do you feel the need to make such a huge and significant change in such an important game??? Idiot got his comeuppance... see you in HIGH SCHOOL coach!!!
This reminds me of years ago of a pro football situation where it was the Buffalo Bills involving Rob Johnson and Doug Flutie. The head coach then was that "Son-of-Bum" Philips who is now the head coach of Dallas. Doug Flutie was playing very well and won the pivotal game that got Buffalo into the playoffs (or into the next round of the playoffs, I don't recall exactly) and everyone expected Flutie to continue as the starter but because the coach is the coach, he decided to put Rob Johnson in that game. Buffalo lost the game, the coach was criticized for his near-lunatic decision to no end and, rightfully, lost his job in that offseason. Now he's inherited a Bill Parcells-built team and should the Cowboys go far, which I believe they will because the NFC totally sucks, he's going to get the credit, bells and whistles. He's lost all cred with me since that Buffalo debacle and good luck to all you Cowboys fans going forward but to me, he's not a very good coach!
