| So Long Freddy Adu Good Bye Freddy Adu the Real Salt Lake MidFielder has announced he has transferred to top Portuguese club Benfica. Adu was the kid who was supposed to save American soccer when signed with DC United but after not being what was expected he was traded to Real Salt Lake. This the only way American soccer gets better though. If our best players like Freddy Adu, Like Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy) and Claudio Reyna (New York Red Bulls) go to Europe and play with the Big boys not the crappy players we got here.

| Re: So Long Freddy Adu Donovan is still going to struggle in Europe, ive been very pleased with the performances of players like DaMarcus Beasley, Carlos Bocanegra and my personal favourite...Brian McBride...so there is still some hope for US soccer players in Europe |

| Re: So Long Freddy Adu i think that he will do OK in Portugal, in terms of moving to spain and england i would say tht is a definate no no right now...mainly becuase i dont think he is as great as people make out...no doubt he is a good player and considering he is only like 18 its phenominal how good a player he is but he was pushed to much at a young age and i dont think he will be able to fulfill his potential since people hyped him up to be the best thing in the world...however i dont think he is ready for the big leagues yet...maybe MLS or Germany or France but not Italy, Spain or England

| Re: So Long Freddy Adu im a big fan of the US national team and ive always been a huge supporter...however i think the reason they did so well in 2002 was becuase people underestimated their potential and they shocked a lot of teams, likewise with Japan in that year, i think they had a tough group in 2006 and hand some difficult games especially against Italy who i think they were unlucky to loose to, they have some good potential but i think are no near winning the trophey yet |
