As of 2006, the guy also has 69 caps and had the distinction of playing in 6 straight major tournaments...and the Brits national team second youngest captain...I guess if all that doesn't add up to great, pray tell what the term great within the Premier league means? |

| Re: English Premier League Thread great players, Best, Moore, Linekar, Keane, Shearer, Adams, Giggs, Schmicheal, Mark Huges, Zola, Vieira, Bergkamp... in the modern day you have players like Drogba, Henry, Gerrard, Ronaldo..the list goes on...im not saying that Campbell was a bad player i think he was a very good player but he was no way a great one, people wont look back in 50 years time and name him in the list of GREAT players in his generation, and he may have 69 caps but that means nothing there are lesser players who have more caps for their countires, playing in 6 major tournaments also means nothing becuase once again there are lesser players who have player in more |

What's more, its not apples to apples when you throw the Shearer, Bergkamp, Linekar and Ronaldo in...they are high profile strikers for the most part...not defensive players...so that skews popular opinion... Still think you are not giving my man Sol enough credit.... |

| Re: English Premier League Thread no becuase i stand by my opinion, i believe that Campbell was a good player but not a great one and all the statistics in the world wont change that fact, plain and simple Campbell was a good player but will never ve classed as a great one im sorry but he wont |
