Seahawks draft Lawrence Jackson

The Seattle Seahawks have selected Lawrence Jackson, DE, USC with the 28th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft (acquired from Dallas). Good pick?

Great pick. The Hawks needed depth on the D-line and Jackson helps with that. We also picked up a run stuffing d-tackle with Bryant from Texas A&M. They also picked up Owen Schmitt from West Virginia who I expect will start in the season opener for the Hawks, he was the best FB in college for 2 years. If I had to give the Seahawks a grade for this draft I would have to say a B. Not great but dang good.

Re: Seahawks draft Lawrence Jackson

DE is one of the last places i would have looked for in the draft, but hey it could never hurt. I was hoping for a TE or DT in the 1st round

Talking Re: Seahawks draft Lawrence Jackson

At first did not agree with the lawrence jackson pick was looking for the hawks to pick either a DT( kentwan balmer) TE ( dustin keller ) or OT(best available, walter jones is gettin close to the end) but after thinking about it our third and long D-fensive scheme will be greatly improved by the move not only will he back up kerney i can see him being used as a hybrid DE/DT like the way they used kerney on third down alot like justin tuck from new york but after picking up carlson and bryant looks better and better everyday now we jus need a big playmaking reciver getting rid of hackett was a huge mistake
