Seahawks Sign Julios Jones

For the second time this week, the Seattle Seahawks have landed a free agent running back. NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the team reached an agreement Friday night with former Cowboys running back Julius Jones.

Seahawks land another back, sign Jones

Do they think that Alexander is done? Why else would they be stockpiling RBs?

That would be my guess - Alexander's on his way out.

If I were in charge, I would cut him loose. Use the backs you picked up as stopgaps and draft a new star. There are several in the draft that should make great RBs. They should be able to get a few picks if they trade Alexander.

Cool Re: Seahawks Sign Julios Jones

Wouldn't there be MAJOR salary cap implications if they just cut Alexander?

Re: Seahawks Sign Julios Jones

My initial thought is that the Hawks will cut Alexander, but if they can negotiate and get a different deal for less money then I'm all for it. However, if we keep morris then we have a back who can do a little of everything.

I think Morris would be used least if we kept all our RB's. Jones can switch on and off with alexander. Duckett for those 3rd and short situations, and morris for the deep pass, quick route. I think he will be used for catching rather than running this year.
